Additional Info Ballyhoo Festival is a juried fine art and fine craft festival with additional emphasis on culture. On the first day of the festival, we celebrate the culture of indigenous people with the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. The Cultural Director provides historical narrative of how the Poarch remained in Alabama during the Trail of Tears. There will be two performances by the Poarch Creek Pow Wow Club dressed in ceremonial regalia. The meaning of each dance is described by the Cultural Director. On the second day of the Festival, the cultural focus is on Early Americana Appalachian music in the form of a fiddle and banjo competition. On site demonstrations will include art, basket weaving and wood carving. For children, there will be hands-on art activities. Great bands and great food! Shuttles will be running back and for both days.
